Valentine's Day

The Holidays are barely over and already the stores have Valentine's Day hearts flooding the aisle. I walked into Target last week and there was a barrage of pink, red and white candy, stuffed animals and of course - large heart-shaped boxed of chocolates.

For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would give one of those assorted boxes of chocolates. Every third one is a jelly or something else unpleasant and so the entire time you are eating that box of "love" you are full of anxiety induced by taste aversion.

Fortunately, I'm single and so I don't have to buy any flowers or boxes filled with yucky surprises. I do have my eye on a girl or two and I might surprise them with a flower or two, but it's more fun when it isn't expected.

Well, hopefully you have someone special to share Valentine's Day with and if you don't, then throw a big party, hire a DJ, and sing some karaoke to the one you love - or hope to love someday!

Hello 2008 you sexy beast, we've been looking forward to you for some time now. The holiday rush is over, the tree is packed away, the lights are down and the resolutions have been made. 2007 was a good year, a sweet sibling that we will always love and cherish, but it is time to kiss her goodbye and welcome in the New Year with a new set of challenges, goals and debauchery.

For us here at Sound and Show January and February are slow months for us so if you need a DJ give us a call and we might be so generous as to cut you a really good deal and when we give deals we don't mean 10% off, more like 33% just because we enjoy DJing so dang much. It rocks.

Chelsea's Super Sweet Sixteen

Sound and Show was delighted to be a part of Chelsea's big day. In an effort to make her party a little cooler we brought a DLP projector and played some recent videos from Justin Timberlake and Soulja Boy, which was a big hit. Most requested song of the evening? Flo Rida's "Low" which was commonly referred to as "apple bottom jeans".

Halfway through the evening we had a request for some karaoke which surprised us because a lot of 16 year olds would be too shy to sing in front of their friends, not this gang. We used our DLP projector to project the words on the wall and soon we had everyone singing. Groups of girls sat on the floor and belted out Taylor Swift's "Tears on my Guitar" while one girl decided to sing a couple of songs accapella.

Sweet 16 parties are becoming more and more popular and Sound and Show loves being a part of these great events. We have lots of ideas to help make your child's party the coolest so call us today!
